Listening to Franklin talk about being strong up the middle is laughable when you realize our DTs & LBers have been a weakness against quality offenses for years now……. King has the physicality but not the speed or cover ability against spread offenses, Rojas has insane potential but isn’t physical at all in the run game, & your backups are DeLuca & Elsdon gtfoh 🤣🤣🤣

Biggest issue was tackling? Tackling wide open receivers and Tight End 15 yards downfield.

Someone did a film breakdown and it was extremely poor defensive play in the first half...poor communication.... especially in the secondary.

People talk way too much negativity on Franklin. Try and do his job especially for PSU. With the repustiation and rebuilding it. Also, this isn’t the NFL. Every 4 yrs they have a new team to work on and now with NIL. It’s more like every 2 years.

Great game by Bowling Green. I expect them to win their conference if they play anywhere near that level. Our coaching staff took over at half, but your team kept the foot on the gas, which prevented PSU coaches from making any first half adjustments. If you kept another time out, you might have put another one in the end zone. Good luck the rest of the way.

I’m definitely not hitting the panic button on the defense yet. We saw this team/defense play better against a better team already this season. And our offense is so refreshing this year. The explosiveness is fun to watch and makes me feel a hell of a lot better than last years.

BG's QB practiced against this defense almost his entire career. So, he knew how to attack it.

Why are all the bys in front weak games

Yeah, if your scoring drive is 5 plays, 75 yards... and 3 different guys touched the ball... well, that's pretty efficient. We can't complain that every skill player didn't get a target. I think we got too used to having drives that were 17 plays, 8 minutes long... like those against Iowa last season... and while they were effective, and great to be able to do that when you need to, you want that quick-strike ability to come out as quickly as possible. BG has a solid, experienced O-line with an attitude, an experieinced QB, a coach who had a great scheme to come out and get some success out of the gate, and some big-arse WRs & a huge TE who looked like he could lift a car. We came out with a laissez-faire attitude, and got shocked, were not communicating effectively, and made bad coverage decisions. We adjusted at the half, and they got 89 yds afterwards. If OE doesn't do the OPI, Drew doesn't miss an EZ end-zone toss, and there wasn't a big drop by OE, the margin of victory is huge.

Franklin is the most overpaid person in the State of Pennsylvania. He still can’t win the “big” games and squeaks by on the little ones. He’s lost to Michigan 7 out of 10 and lost to Ohio State 9 out of 10 since coming to PSU. Thank god they pad his record with 4 or 5 schools each year outside the conference whose teams are not up to the league level, and still this week he barely beat Bowling Green. The only reason his team gets invited to a bowl game year after year is that they have such a large fan base, they will fill a stadium anywhere in the country.

Allar IS the guy. He's got the confidence this year and the game plan is helping. D made the adjustments and O is doing well. I think each week the O will have a different flavor and hard to prep for moving forward. Just getting used to the new schemes and will get better throughout the year. Tough win is better than a simple one in several ways because of the learning involved.

Concerning but not overconcerned. They figured it out. BG is a veteran and solid team. They have a chance to win the Mac. We figured it out and won. The good news is I think the D will be much better moving forward - great learning and adjustments. And we know.....Allar IS the guy. Other than the underthrow for the pick, he was lights out. Warren IS the guy. Singleton IS the guy....K Allan IS also back to form. He is sneaky good breaking tackles. This team can beat everyone if they start well (maybe not Ohio State). The Offense bailed out the D....Something I would never have thought I would ever say....

Nate is 100% spot on! Pretty hard to defend a qb whose release is that quick and whose passes are that accurate--doesn't matter if the pass rush is unblocked or the receivers perfectly covered. That's the first half I saw.

Rewatching a lot of the game : Dom Deluca has absolutely platueaed. Hes a ncie story and a good roster guy and role player. He is,however, about as big of a liability as elsdon was two years ago. Everyone bitches about recrutiing rankings but youre seeing why deluca wasnt a named recruit

If you were really buying the universal 49-10 predictions, you were probably disappointed in this game. I did not buy them. I expected a close game. Looking at the big picture from around college football yesterday, I'm happy that we survived and advanced. The players overcame a subpar performance because they believed.
